Please read my guest post at Good Life Zen

I’m happy to announce that my good friend, Mary Jaksch, has just published a guest post that I submitted to her a week or so ago entitled “Can adversity be a door to a new life?”

I put a lot of myself into this post and would be delighted and very thankful if you’d like to take a look at it. All you need to do is to trot on over to Mary’s blog, at www.Goodlifezen.com.

Friendship is a remarkable thing, isn’t it, one of life’s greatest miracles. I’ve been friends with Mary for a long time, but I really couldn’t tell you exactly why or how this friendship developed. I do know she has been an invaluable support and inspiration to me almost since I first began blogging.

One of the adventures we shared together a few years ago was when she helped me create an online course on “The True Promise and Potential of Aging.” Mary lives in New Zealand, a beautiful country where I spent many happy months as a young man in my early twenties. I worked as a laborer on hydro-electric projects and later was a reporter on the Marlborough Express, published in a small town called Blenheim in the South Island, (not far from where Mary lives).

I became good friends with two other young reporters at that newspaper and among other things we spent a few weeks living a “hobo life” together, working as laborers on construction projects, sleeping in empty railroad cars and so on. I remember we were watching a movie in Dunedin when we heard the news that Sir Edmund Hillary had climbed Mt. Everest.

Besides being a very well-known blogger in the inspirational, self-help field, Mary Jaksch is also the co-founder, with Leo Babauta, of The A-List Blogger Club, a community of bloggers that helps “newbies” find their feet in this very interesting and rewarding field of blogging.

We live in intense, often very confusing and frightening times. But as we listen to the quiet voice of wisdom in our own heart we discover that our true nature is utterly trustworthy and moreover is quite unafraid of any of the challenges and tribulations that land on our doorstep.

I send love and blessings to you and I hope very much that you will take a few moments to read my latest post at www.goodlife.zen.
